It should therefore come as no surprise that the Indian beauty has been an ambassador for the Swiss brand for 10 years now. Considered by many as one of the most beautiful women in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born in Mangalore (India) on 1 November 1973. Being a natural beauty she soon began modeling while studying architecture. In the light of her phenomenal success, she decided to go professional. In 1994 she won the Miss World title and was soon courted by Bollywood. She started working as an actress in 1996 with great success, receiving many roles and collecting a series of awards. In 2002 she starred in Devdas, the most ambitious film in Bollywood's history, which triumphed at the Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya gained international fame and was asked to join the festival jury the following year. Hollywood couldn’t resist and her first film in English, Bride and Prejudice, was released in 2004, and followed by other American productions. Although blessed by the gods, this beautiful woman has never forgotten those less fortunate than herself. She has set up a charitable foundation which bears her name in order to help the most disadvantaged people in India. In spring 2007 Aishwarya joined the most prestigious Bollywood family by marrying actor Abhishek Bachchan.
